The Star Wars Apps: The Force is strong with these apps

Hi Guys!
Tomorrow is a big day. Yes! The new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens is releasing tomorrow in India. There are still a few hours before it to happen. There are some games of star wars which you can play like Angry Birds:Star Wars while waiting for it to release. In Case you are not a gamer, here are some apps with which you can stay tuned.

Star Wars

If you are a great fan of the Star Wars Franchise, then this is a great app to start your day. This app includes a lot of cool features. You can click Star Wars themed selfies ( Girls, this thing is for you !! )
and share it with your friends on various social networking sites. There is this full experience of Star Wars VR ( that works with Google Cardboard ).
star_wars_official.jpg

The app gives you trailers, and a soundboard to listen to classic quotes and sound effects from the movies, and there is a section to find gifs and emojis you can paste into messages. The whole package really has a lot for fans, so you should download this app.

Giphy Cam

With this fun app, you can quickly capture short vids and share them as .gif files( I wanted this app for a long time.). This lets you add filters and special effects to the images you save as well, and allows you to share them across chat quite easily.
giphy_am_star_wars.jpg

So a Star Wars overlay where you can add a stormtrooper helmet or lightsaber is a really nice touch, and allows you to quickly add the Star Wars flavour to your shares.

Download Giphy Cam for iOS

LightSaber Escape

Get ready for a real Star Wars fight experience for Chrome.  Yes, you can fight and save the world with just your phone and PC.

You need to have chrome on both the devices. For this you need to visit the LightSaber Escape website. There, you'll be shown a URL to enter in your phone's Chrome. The two connect automatically, and once you tap the initiate button on the phone, you're thrown into a hallway with a small army of stormtroopers trying to shoot you.
lightsaber_escape.jpg

It's a little imprecise, but the page does warn that it is an experiment with Chrome. For a fun, free experiment, this is really amazing, and you can easily waste a lot of time deflecting blaster bolts back at stormtroopers and feeling unstoppable. Just, don't do this at work - people will stare.

These are some of the good apps I found on the app stores. What are the others you know about ? Tell me, via the comments.

Thank You,

Comparison:OnePlus X vs OnePlus One

As expected,OnePlus launchd its affordable OnePlus X in India. The smartphone will be available in two variants – OnePlus X Onyx and OnePlus Ceramic. Not surprisingly, the launch has thrown up a lot of questions, and much of the debate is around how it is different from last year’s OnePlus One, and why should one buy the new smartphone. We compare the two smartphones on the basis of their price, specifications and features to try and answer that.oneplus-x-vs-oneplus-one
Price: As mentioned above, the OnePlus X has been launched in two variants. The OnePlus X Onyx is priced at Rs 16,999, and the OnePlus X Ceramic is priced at Rs 22,999. Both the smartphones will be an Amazon India exclusive, and will go on sale from next month onwards. Initially, users will need an invite to buy the smartphone, but later it will be available via weekly open sales.
In comparison, the OnePlus One 16GB variant is priced at Rs 18,998, and OnePlus One 64GB variant is priced at Rs 21,998. While it started out as an Amazon India exclusive, it is now available on various channels like Flipkart and Snapdeal as well.
Specifications and features: Where the OnePlus One featured a 5.5-inch 1080p display, the new OnePlus X features a smaller 5-inch 1080p display. It’s not just the difference in size, but the type of display as well. The OnePlus One featured a LTPS LCD display, while the OnePlux X comes with an AMOLED display. The screens on both the smartphones are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood both the smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. One of the big differentiating factors between the smartphones is in the storage department. The OnePlus One was launched in 16GB and 64GB variants. The OnePlus X, on the other hand, offers only 16GB storage, but it can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
In the photography department, both smartphones feature a 13-megapixel camera at the back, but there is a slight change underneath. The primary camera on the OnePlus One came with f/2.0 aperture and a Sony Exmor IMX214 image sensor. The camera on the X comes with f/2.2 aperture, ISOCELL image sensor, and Phase Detection Auto focus, which the company claims is good enough to focus on a subject in less than a second. Up front, the OnePlus One came with a 5-megapixel camera, while the OnePlus X features an 8-megapixel snapper.
The OnePlus X also comes with a smaller 2,525mAh battery, compared with the 3,100mAh batter on the OnePlus One. Like the OnePlus 2, the new smartphone too comes with an Alert Slider switch at the side, which lets users toggle between the kinds of notification alerts they want to receive. There is no such feature on the One.
There are changes on the connectivity front as well, and the X is first smartphone in OnePlus’ lineup to come with dual-SIM card slots. It is however a hybrid card slot, wherein one of the slots is used for the microSD card. Rest of the connectivity options remain the same.
On the software front, the One runs on Cyanogen OS 12, while the X runs on OxygenOS. Both are based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
In the end, a buyer’s choice will depend upon his or her priorities. The OnePlus X will be appreciated by users with relatively smaller hands (like yours truly), Alert Slider switch is a good option to have, while the options for expanding the memory, and dual-SIM card slots too are considered as advantages. Factor in the slightly lower price tag, and the OnePlus X has a lot going for it when compared to the One.

That being said, the OnePlus One is readily available now, while the X will go on sale only next month, and that too via the frustrating invite system. It will be December by the time, it becomes easier to get one’s hands on the OnePlus X.

Similar to other OnePlus smartphones, the OnePlus X will also be sold exclusively via Amazon India on invite only basis starting from November 5. Design: The OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2 were praised for their design, especially the Sandstone finish at the back that offered a premium look and feel along with a good grip to hold the smartphone. But with the OnePlus X, the company has changed the focus with design conscious users in mind. It now features a metal frame and glass back with piano gloss finish, something similar to what we have seen in the Apple iPhone 4s and Sony Xperia Z smartphones.
Alert Slider switch: Similar to the one that we saw on the OnePlus 2, this physical toggle switch can be used for prioritizing notification alerts. It’s basically a three-stage button that lets you quickly flip through options such as ‘All’, ‘Priority’ and ‘None’. To acknowledge the choice of notification, the handset gives a subtle vibration feedback.

MicroSD card slot/Dual-SIM slots: The OnePlus X comes with a hybrid dual-SIM card slot where one slot is a dedicated for a SIM card while the other one can be used for either second SIM card or a microSD card. The smartphone can handle up to 128GB microSD cards.

Camera: It comes with a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ISOCELL camera with an LED flash and Phase Detection Auto Focus feature. The camera records 1080p videos with added option for slow-motion and time-lapse. Unlike other OnePlus smartphones, the front-facing camera on the OnePlus X has been upgraded to 8-megapixel of aperture f/2.4.
FM Radio: OnePlus has also included the FM Radio feature that was missing in OnePlus One and OnePlus 2.
OnePlus X specifications and features: It comes with a 5-inch full HD (1080p) AMOLED display with pixel density of 441ppi. The screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to keep scratches at bay. At the heart of the OnePlus X runs Qualcomm’s 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card for further expansion.
With a 2,525mAh battery and Quick Charge 2.0 support, connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.0. On the software front, the OnePlus X runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
