As expected, OnePlus finally unveiled the OnePlus X, which is the company’s most affordable smartphone yet. Equipped with good hardware on board, the smartphone is aimed at the design-conscious users. The OnePlus X will be available in two variants – OnePlus X Onyx priced at Rs 16,999 and OnePlus X Ceramic limited edition priced at Rs 22,999. Similar to other OnePlus smartphones, the OnePlus X will also be sold exclusively via Amazon India on invite only basis starting from November 5. The Ceramic edition will go on sale starting November 24. The company has also mentioned that after a month, the smartphone will be sold via weekly open sale. Design: The OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2 were praised for their design, especially the Sandstone finish at the back that offered a premium look and feel along with a good grip to hold the smartphone. But with the OnePlus X, the company has changed the focus with design conscious users in mind. It now features a metal frame and glass back with piano gloss finish, something similar to what we have seen in the Apple iPhone 4s and Sony Xperia Z smartphones.
Alert Slider switch: Similar to the one that we saw on the OnePlus 2, this physical toggle switch can be used for prioritizing notification alerts. It’s basically a three-stage button that lets you quickly flip through options such as ‘All’, ‘Priority’ and ‘None’. To acknowledge the choice of notification, the handset gives a subtle vibration feedback.

MicroSD card slot/Dual-SIM slots: The OnePlus X comes with a hybrid dual-SIM card slot where one slot is a dedicated for a SIM card while the other one can be used for either second SIM card or a microSD card. The smartphone can handle up to 128GB microSD cards.

Camera: It comes with a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ISOCELL camera with an LED flash and Phase Detection Auto Focus feature. The camera records 1080p videos with added option for slow-motion and time-lapse. Unlike other OnePlus smartphones, the front-facing camera on the OnePlus X has been upgraded to 8-megapixel of aperture f/2.4.
FM Radio: OnePlus has also included the FM Radio feature that was missing in OnePlus One and OnePlus 2.
OnePlus X specifications and features: It comes with a 5-inch full HD (1080p) AMOLED display with pixel density of 441ppi. The screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to keep scratches at bay. At the heart of the OnePlus X runs Qualcomm’s 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card for further expansion.
With a 2,525mAh battery and Quick Charge 2.0 support, connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.0. On the software front, the OnePlus X runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
